Italy possesses an immense and spectacular historical, artistic and archaeological heritage which enriches every corner of its territory with more than
200 archaeological sites and parks, approximately 5000 museums and innumerable monumental churches.
From Pompeii to Ercolano and Paestum to itineraries in Valcamonica to the Valley of Temples in Agrigento to Sardinian Nuraghi; from Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana to all the traces of Magna Graecia, from the Uffizi Gallery to the Mart in Rovereto, to the MADRE in Naples; archaeological and art lovers can find the ideal Italian location in order to deepen their knowledge and discover new and unexpected scenarios every day.

Precisely in order to pay homage to this enormous wealth, the National day of archaeology, artistic heritage and restoration will be celebrated on 7th December, an event which will ensure citizens and tourists can meet up with the past and with the civilisations which succeeded one another on the national territory thanks to a rich calendar of free suggestions.
The date also coincides with another initiative: “Sunday at the Museum”, which allows everyone to visit State monuments, museums, galleries, archaeological excavations, gardens and parks every first Sunday of the month without paying any entrance fee.
